The Plush Explorer Society — field season open
We mount careful expeditions to real places, and catalogue what should not be there.
The Explorer and his fellow iconkinds go under the sea, down into the docks, and (the Bureau insists) through time — to places you could visit on a Tuesday — and come home having catalogued a creature or two the record was not expecting. Every expedition brings back one true thing about the place. Most bring back a mystery as well.

Finding XII
A plush never sinks
Observed off Torquay in 1851 and again last Tuesday. The Society's diving bell has yet to recover one from the bottom; the otter surfaced first and regarded the company.
Puzzle · the Sorting Hall
Eleven specimens, four drawers
One label in the wrong hand. Members are invited to sort them before the Archivist notices. The exercise takes about as long as a cup of tea.

The Clockwork Century runs eleven minutes slow. Members are advised to bring a book; Volume III is a good length.
An invitation
Every cabinet begins with a single specimen
Members keep a cabinet of their own — the specimens they have found, the places they have been, the mysteries they refuse to let lie. Visitors here are fellow explorers, never customers. Curiosity is the only qualification; the Society supplies the rest.
